TeamsFx helps automate the development process when building Teams apps. Below are tools and templates that can be used to configure CI/CD workflows, create workflow templates, and customize CI/CD workflows using GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and other platforms. For resource provisioning and deployment, you can use the Teams Developer Portal to create Azure service guidelines and publish Teams apps. To manually publish the Teams app, you can use the Teams Edition developer portal.

Description of tools and models
TeamsFx-CLI-Action is a GitHub activity integrated with TeamsFx CLI. The Teams Toolkit Visual Studio Code extension in Visual Studio Code can help you develop Teams apps and automated workflows for GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins.
The TeamsFx CLI command line tool can help you develop Teams apps and automated workflows for GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins.
script-ci-template.sh and script-cd-template.sh Script templates for external automation on GitHub, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.

You can use the following platforms to configure the pipeline:

  • Use GitHub to configure the pipeline

  • Using Jenkins to configure the pipeline
  • Configure pipelines for other platforms
  • Use GitHub to configure the pipeline

Customize CI/CD workflows. Create a workflow template
You can use GitHub to create the following workflow templates:

  • Teams Toolkit in Visual Studio Code
  • Use the Teams toolkit to create a new Teams app project.
  • Select the “Group Toolkit” icon in the left pane.
  • Select “Add Function”

  • Select “Add CI/CD Workflow”.
  • Select CI/CD . Workflow
  • Select the environment from the command prompt.
  • Select GitHub as the CI/CD provider.
  • Select at least one template from the following options:
  • CI, CD, syndication or release in Teams.
  • Open the template and customize the workflow to suit the scenario.

Team FX CLI

  • Import the cd into the Teams app project folder.
  • Enter the command teamsfx add cicd to start the interactive command process.
  • Select the environment from the command prompt.
  • Select GitHub as the CI/CD provider.
  • Select at least one template from the following options:
  • CI, CD, syndication or release in Teams.
  • Open the template and customize the workflow to suit the scenario.

If you need more workflow templates, you can follow the same process to create workflow templates in Visual Studio Code or TeamsFx CLI.

Custom CI/CD Workflow

You can edit or delete test scripts to customize CI/CD workflow:

By default, when a new commit is made to the master branch, the CD workflow is activated.
Modify the build script if necessary.
Remove the test script if necessary.
